Different Parts of a Power Transformer

There are various parts of a power transformer which is used in electrical power distribution. The parts are -

  1. High Voltage Bushing
  2. Low Voltage Bushing
  3. Main Tank
  4. Drain Off
  5. Cooling Tubes
  6. Oil Tank
  7. Oil Tank Gauge
  8. Buchholz Relay

Every part of power transformer has its own function to do the operation of the power transformer. Like

  • High Voltage Bushing: High voltage current enters the transformer at this location. Between the external circuit and the transformer windings, it safely conducts high voltage while providing insulation.
  • Low Voltage Bushing: Low-voltage current enters or exits the transformer at this terminal. Like the high voltage bushing, it offers insulation and a path for low voltage electrical current.
