Block Diagram of FSK Generation and Coherent Detection

Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) is a digital communication technique in which the modulation signal moves the output frequency between predetermined values.

There are two types of FSK

  1. Coherent Form: The Coherent variant of FSK exists, which has no phase discontinuity in the output signal.
  2. Non-coherent Form: The instantaneous frequency is altered between two discrete values, known as the mark frequency and the space frequency. This is a non-coherent FSK signal.
